Yuchai's world's first robot robot core production line trial production

On March 12, 2010, the first production line of the Yuchai Casting Center Phase I project, a major project in the Yuchai Industrial Park, was formally put into trial production after the investment of 450 million yuan was completed. At present, trial production is very smooth. The line mainly produces diesel engine block castings and is the first to adopt the robot core technology in the world. The environmental protection facilities it uses have also reached the highest level in China.

In an interview with Yuchai Casting Center on March 26, 2010, Liang Chengzhen, manager of the project department of the center, told reporters that the trial production was an important part of the diesel engine, the cylinder production line. The line introduced eight robots. All robots use the core-down process to improve the precision of the lower core and the accuracy of the casting, which greatly reduces the weight, processing allowance, and production cost of the casting. In the equipment, the key and important processes adopt internationally famous imported brands. The auxiliary process adopts domestic first-class equipment, which reduces the amount of foundry materials by 10%, reduces the energy consumption in the production process by 8%, and reduces the overall scrap casting rate to less than 1%. Since the trial production was started, the production technicians of the foundry center started trial production while debugging the equipment. The trial production was very smooth. “We started producing several units or more than a dozen units each day, and we have continuously produced more than 370 cylinders. Now we produce about 70 cylinders a day, and we can produce them in batches from next month. After the formation of production capacity, This line can produce one cylinder per minute,” said Liang.

Since the Yuchai Foundry Center officially started construction on February 10th, 2009, Yuchai Industrial Park has provided a full range of services in terms of water, electricity, roads, greening, landscaping, lighting, etc. from the strategic height of “strong Chai Xingyu”. Timely resolution of various problems in project construction has created a superior soft and hard environment for the completion and production of foundry centers. It is understood that due to the limited production capacity of cylinder block and cylinder head castings, Yuchai has to purchase 20% of its cylinder block parts every year. The commissioning of the Yuchai Foundry Center will fundamentally change the pattern of over-reliance on procurement, greatly increase the relevance of the local Yuchai supporting industries, and will further elevate the engine of the Yulin Machinery Industry to become stronger and bigger.
